Visiting for the first time

We warmly welcome anyone with an open heart and interest in Orthodoxy to attend our humble church. Orthodox services centre around the Divine Liturgy, which is celebrated on Sundays, and on any other days throughout the year on which the feasts of the Church and saints fall.

You do not need an invitation to attend our church services; as long as you are respectful while you are in the church, you are most welcome to come and observe what is going on around you.

We do not expect visitors to be aware of the customs that take place within the church (for example, you will see us crossing ourselves through the services), but below are some points about which you might like to be aware.

It is expected that parishioners and visitors dress appropriately, as the Apostolic tradition advises us to do when standing at prayer. While specific dress requirements exist for men and women respectively, both are required to dress modestly.

The spirit in which we dress should be to not attract attention, so that those around us are able to stay focused on the service.

If you wish to attend with children, but are unsure how it will go, please don't worry! We understand that children make noise from time to time, and you are always welcome to take them outside, or to the hall, for a change of scenery.
